Efforts To Cut Cancer Agents In Food

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization set safety rules to cut levels of cancer-causing chemicals and bacteria in foodstuffs ranging from French fries to baby food.

Food safety awareness has been a growing concern around the world, Codex Alimentarius Commission , Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization, together they have adopted more than 30 new standards and guidelines to protect consumers’ health.

The commission has approved measures to reduce acrylamide in foods, a chemical that may cause cancer. This chemical is produced during frying, roasting and baking of carbohydrates-rich foods: French fries, potato crisps, coffee, biscuits, pastries and breads.

By applying the Codex standards and guidelines this will ensure that consumers around the world are protected from unsafe food.

The commission adopted a criteria for salmolella and other bacteria, Esakazakii, in powdered formulae for children six months and older and for special medical purposes in young children.

Microbiological testing parameters were set to help producers control and prevent contamination of ready-to-eat foods with listeria monocytogenes, which can lead to listeriosis, a potentially fatal disease.

After major scandals in China of over used melamine, a chemical used in fertilizer and plastics, the body will seek to establish maximum levels for melamine in food and feed.
It aims to “help governments differentiate between unavoidable melamine occurrence and the deliberate adulteration of food and feed.” – Reuters

Recommended daily intake of supplements, Nature's 18, Aloe Vera Gel, A-Beta-CarE and Pomesteen Power.

Atherosclerosis & Arteriosclerosis /Cholesterol

Arteriosclerosis known as (calcium deposits) and atherosclerosis (cholesterol or fat deposits) are hardening of the arteries. This is caused by calcium or fat deposits on the interior walls of the arteries.

The flow of unrestricted blood is hampered. The calcium or fat deposits produce a blockage in the circulation of blood, caused by the molecular crossing which is produced by the free radicals.

Symptoms

Most common symptoms during arterial blockage are found in the circulatory and cardiovascular systems;

Problems caused by blockage of arteries

·         High Blood Pressure
·         Angina Pectoris
·         Aneurysm
·          Heart Attack
·         Cerebral stroke
·         Thrombosis and the formation of blood clots
·         Loss of memory and concentration
·         The arteries in the legs begin to close, causing fatigue, weakness, muscular contractions, and pain when walking.

Aneurysm – is the dilation or enlarging of the arteries caused by an increase in blood pressure when the artery is blocked. The danger associated with aneurysms is that they put pressure on the tissues they are located, and can cause the artery to burst, leaking blood from the artery.

Causes of sclerosis

Inadequate nutrition, consumption of foods which are high in cholesterol, such as fats in red meat, egg yolk, some seafood, stress, lack of exercise, nicotine addiction and arterial hypertension have been cited as the common causes.

Suggested treatment

·         Eliminate consumption of foods that are high in cholesterol and reducing the consumption of low density foods (LDL)
·         The consumption of high density fats (HDL) and unsaturated fatty acids (EPA) and Omega 3 should be on the increase.
·         Olive oil (oleic acid) and GLA (gamma-linoleic acid) helps eliminate the low density cholesterol (LDL) in arteries (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides which are deposited in and clog the arteries.
·         Polyunsaturated fats (high density lipoproteins (HDL) are necessary to clean the arteries. HDL's oxidizes easily in the blood stream, thus causing them to lose their potency to clean the arteries
·         It is also recommended to add vitamin A, B,C and selenium which acts as antioxidants, thus preventing oxidation of these polyunsaturated fats.

To lower cholesterol, the following is recommended;

·         Eliminate red meat – beef and pork
·         Meats high in fat
·         Egg yolk
·         Shrimp and oysters
·         Fried foods, pork sausages, sugar and flour.
·         Cigarettes, coffee and alcohol
·         Limit the intake of butter, cream, cheese, vegetables and animal fats.
·         Cut down on salty foods
·         A daily intake of supplements like Forever Cardiohealth, Arctic Sea Super Omega 3, Absorbent C and Aloe Vera Gel
